This year sparks the fateful end to the "Next-Gen" console wars between juggernauts Sony, and Microsoft. With the unveiling a little while ago, Microsoft's Xbox One got a more than mixed review as many people were expecting a machine that would be able to dominate the gaming market. Instead, what they got was simply an "all in one home entertainment system". After the reveal, the internet blew up with concern and rumor over the Xbox One will handle things such as Used Games, and Social Gaming. While some took this as a cal for the Playstation 4, more were just as eager to show off to their friends that they can now more easily have all their electronics in one easy package.
On the other side, Sony has been keeping a tight seal on their Playstation 4 until its major unveiling at E3. Some information has already been leaked such as the processor, a a high-end AMD Radeon to be exact, as well as the new controller with a touch screen and a new "share" button designed to influence social gaming. Excitedly, gamers around the world jumped at the reveal of the tech specs and made it known they would purchase this system rather than the Xbox One.
Several largely known companies will make their mark this year with Bungie's "Destiny", Ubisoft's "Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag", and Activision's "Call of Duty: Ghosts". Currently, these games, slated for late 2013, to early 2014 releases should have full demos available for E3. I firmly believe that the Xbox One will have a complete presentation, and when I say that I mean no more unconfirmed speculation about what might or might not be about the system. I'm hoping for a large Playstation 4 conference as well as playable demos of their games. Now, the Playstation 4 doesn't have a release date thus far, but I'll go ahead and predict that it will be announced as a late November release to compete with the Xbox One's release.
With as much anticipation as this year is getting, i'm definetly confirming that this E3 will be one, if not the biggest year for Developers and Retailers. But we'll have to see what the event itself holds for us in 9 days. Until then, happy gaming!
